NOOR Novel by Sorayya Khan

“Rich, resonant and lyrical, NOOR is a novel which
tackles, unflinchingly, the legacy of war, and . . .
makes of great suffering a work of beauty.
Sorayya Khan has written a powerful and
haunting novel, and a wholly original book.”

- Claire Messud

“[An] eerily beautiful and imaginative novel.”

- Bapsi Sidhwa

Sorayya's new novel, FIVE QUEEN'S ROAD, will be published by Penguin India in early 2008.

During May 2007 Sorayya was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Aceh Institute in Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

During the AWP Annual Conference in Atlanta in March 2007, Sorayya will be a participant on a panel, "The Imagination of Displacement."
